Work In Progress

This piece ended up being a little on the dark side. I will be working to correct that situation this weekend. But here's a peak anwyay. I have to tweak the colors to be more like the color comp.
Anyway, enjoy!

Kitty!

Also! Here's a kitty I drew for a friend. :] If I couldn't doodle, my brain would implode.
Pencil and watercolor

Edit:
He even Twittered about it, I feel so special.

With some value edits...

...this would look better. Hopefully I can fix this before the semester ends....next week! Goodnes this semester has gone by far too quickly. Here's another project, a dog walker.

Some Much Needed Inspiration...

Now that I'm nearing the end of the semester, I am feeling the stress of taking six classes and applying for internships and everything. I love it and wouldn't have it any other way, but it seems there aren't enough hours in the day.
But then along comes something like Dreamwork's How to Train Your Dragon. I saw this movie in IMAX 3D (and have seen it in 3D four times since), and it just completely blew me away. It exceeded all of my expectations and gave me just the inspiration I needed. This movie has quickly become one of my favorites and I hope this studio keeps it up.
Yesterday, Kathy Altieri visited Ringling and I was able to get my hands on a ticket to see her presentation about the film. It. Was. Awesome. I really loved hearing about the film and I hope one day (soon) I can find my way into the field. I brought my Art of How To Train Your Dragon book and she signed it. It gave me some inspiration for my next illustration project.
Thanks Kathy, your presentation was awesome!

I snapped some quick pictures with my phone to share!
